Tumbling Haggis

Hi. I'm Sean, also known as Haggis. These are things that I like. If you are reading this, you probably like them too. I think that makes us BFF's now, so can I borrow your car for like 2, maybe 3 hours?

BLUE BELL ICE CREAM. No, technically it is not made in Austin. BUT you can buy it EVERYWHERE here. And also it’s a great day trip out to Brenham to where Blue Bell is made.

I’m including Blue Bell in the collection of what keeps Austin Austin, because I know I’m not the only one that subsists on this stuff in the summer when it is far too hot to eat most other foods. This particular ice cream sandwich was my breakfast last Sunday. It was great. Don’t take my word for it. Go get one yourself.

Thank you Blue Bell!

I <3 ATX!

Note: Dig this blog? Please take a minute to visit Spike Yourself to see how you can keep it going. Won’t cost you a dime to help. Thanks!

As close as you will ever be to a nuclear explosion

THIS IS FUCKING TERRIFYING

No thank you.

The columns of smoke in the foreground are telephone poles boiling

This is way cooler to look at than it should be

Science side of Tumblr would like to add:
Heat is generally transmitted in 3 forms: conduction, convection, radiation.
The fact that the telephone poles and wires are boiling away well before the shockwave hits them indicates that the heat from the explosion has not reached them by convection (much slower than the speed of sound) or by conduction (at best, comparable to the speed of sound), but purely by radiation. In other words: the explosion is bright enough to boil everything.

Morning soundtrack! Stop Making Sense by Talking Heads. I always loved Talking Heads and David Byrne, but I grew to appreciate them on a new level in the past few years. My favorite is still (and always will be) Nothing But Flowers.

"Once this was a Pizza Hut, but now it’s all covered with daisies."

silentxwriter:

It is this one. Occasionally, the original text/pic gets deleted and replaced with a gif of your OTP or that actor in that one show or a quote from that thing you like. But it’s not them. It never was them. It has always been, and always will be, a lie.

And now it’s a sick picture of a T Rex.
